Well, it is official: The long-awaited online release of our first CD since 2006 is upon us!

We present to you “Age of Delirium,” a modest four-song EP featuring some of our favorite material. This is sort of a sampler of what we’re about, featuring a variety of styles that we like to dabble in, with flavors of pop-rock, punk and alternative rock, and even a power-ballad!

Our plan is to get this music in as many’s people’s hands (and heads) as possible. We moved to Seattle from Honolulu a while ago, and this CD will be our formal introduction into this new market. In the meantime, we will soon begin work on our second full-length album, tentatively due by summer or fall of 2009.

And while we can’t get CDs to everyone, we do hope you enjoy this online release. After several months of carpal tunnel-inducing madness, countless bends and bumps on a difficult and perilous road, and hundreds of hours of trial and error and maddening tweaks, we are oh-so proud to announce that we are officially ready to release our first batch of new music since 2006, a four-song CD called “Age of Delirium.”

This project represents a wide spectrum of our music. It features two rocking numbers, one lighter, poppy number and a ballad — complete with a cello! These are some of our favorite songs, and we cannot wait to hear what you think about them.

We will be updating our various websites, including our MySpace and Facebook profiles, with the new music by about noon on Thursday, Sept. 18. We put our hearts and souls into this, so it would mean a lot to us if you checked it out and told us what you think.

We expect to get a shipment of 1,000 limited-edition CDs in a few weeks. But in the meantime, we are making these songs available for FREE download from our MySpace profile as of Sept. 18. Also, CDs — which feature a special surprise that you cannot get online — will be FREE to anyone who comes to see us play live. That’s right FREE!!!!

Hey everyone! We wanted to let you know about a few things. First off, we’ll be celebrating the finishing of our brand new EP, tentatively titled “Age of Delirium,” at our CD release party on Saturday, April 19 at the Central Saloon in Pioneer Square! Well technically we aren’t releasing it yet, but we WILL have some special advance copies of the EP. We’ll also have on sale our re-release of our debut LP album, “Antidote.” So make sure you stop by and pick up some copies!

Hello everyone. I know it’s been forever since we posted anything up in here. We’ve been busy. Well, what’s new, right? We are excited to report that we’re nearly FINISHED with our EP, our first brand-new official release (with a title we’ll be unveiling soon as well) in a long time. We cannot believe how well these songs are turning out, and trust us when we tell you that it will be worth the wait. We hope to release it within the next couple months.

We’ve also been busy trying to set up some shows. We’re new to the town, and realize that the best thing we can be doing for ourselves is to gut up off our asses and put ourselves out there. We recently added an upcoming shows features to this website, as you probably saw, so definitely try to make it out to a show sometime! For now we’re focusing on the Puget Sound area, but we might venture out once in a while too.

We’re having a blast, but we recognize that we do face many challenges. But we are ready to take them on, one at a time. In the meantime, we continue to try our best to make some good music, and hopefully a few of you out there will dig it.

Finally, we wanted to point out that we started putting a shows listing on the homepage of this website. Please check it frequently and make sure you get yerrasses out there!!! We’ve got a bunch of shows coming up, as we transition from hibernation to the cacophony of ROCK!

It’s official! We will perform for the first time ever as Grim Smiley in Seattle!

The show is Saturday, Jan. 26, at the High Dive (513 N. 36th St., Fremont, WA 98103). It’s a special happy-hour show, so make sure you come early. Doors open at 6 and we’ll be playing sometime thereafter. Don’t be late!

It’ll be 5 bucks at the door, and it’s 21-over.

Also we’re currently in preproduction for a new EP we’re going to be releasing in the spring. It’s awesome to be back in the studio for the first time in ages and to be releasing more new music. These are songs we’ve been sitting on forever, and we can’t wait to unleash them upon the world!!!

We will travel to Moscow, Idaho, to make our live debut, on Saturday, Nov. 3!

It will be our first public performance since we relocated to Seattle and changed the identity of the band. The last time we played together was our going-away show in May in Honolulu when we were known as “The Crud.”

Since then we have retooled considerably in every phase of the game. We cannot wait to unleash the MADNESS!!!

We’ll be playing with our buddies Out From Underneath. The gig will be at John’Alley Tavern (114 E Sixth Street). If you happen to be in the area, or want to fly or drive up, come check it out! What better way to spend a vacation than visiting the great state of potatoes!

We hope to be adding more dates soon, especially in the Seattle area. But we’re still working hard to make sure everything is set before we get out there too much. This will be a great warm-up gig for us before we really make our debut on the Seattle scene.

The song “For Tomorrow,” off of the upcoming “Antidote” album, is featured on the compilation “One Life at a Time.” It is for a really good cause, and it’s a chance to get a sneak peak at our new album. It’s also a chance to hear what Hawaii rock sounds like!

Welcome! After taking several months to relocate and retool, we are proud to announce that WE’RE BACK!!! We’ve made the big move across the Pacific Ocean, going from paradise to the Pacific Northwest, where this modern era of rock was born. We have not only changed locations, but we’ve changed the name and identity of this band. Some of our Hawaii following know us as “The Crud.” We are henceforth known as Grim Smiley, based in Seattle, Wash.

Why the name change? Well, we wanted to make a fresh start with a cool new identity. Plus, it helps that there aren’t 20 other bands out there with the same name!

This new site has lots of features, and we hope you enjoy it. Keep checking back, as we’ll continue to add new content — everything from pictures to video to music to blogs to podcasts to swag to when/where we’re playing next.
